Kaune prasideda nauja kuruota rezidencija CENTRAS

Daugiau nei dešimtmetį trukęs kaunietiškas festivalis CENTRAS po metų pertraukos grįžta kaip tarptautinė kuruojama menininkų rezidencija. Šių metų įvykio koncepcija atsispiria nuo ilgamečio festivalio pavadinimo „Centras”, kuris leis atverti plačias temas INSTITUCIJA – PERIFERIJA – SINAPSĖ. Rezidencijos kuratorės Vaidos Stepanovaitės pasiūlyti tyrimo taškai glaudžiai siejasi su kultūriškai besikeičiančio Kauno peizažu ir atliepia poreikį permąstyti šiuolaikybės (pa)tyrimo būdus.

Birželio 22 d., ketvirtadienį, 17 val. Kauno menininkų namuose (V. Putvinskio g. 56) vyks susitikimas su keliaujančia meno iniciatyva F.L.O.A.T. (Olandija).

Dviejų etapų rezidencijoje trys menininkų kolektyvai: F.L.O.A.T. (NL), Lehman Brothers (DK), Eglė Kulbokaitė ir Dorota Gawęda (LT/PL) per edukacinę prieigą kontūruos pasiūlytas, jų meninėse praktikose gajas rezidencijos temas. Spalio 20 d. vietiniame lauke suaktyvintų tiriamųjų veiklų rezultatai ir kolektyvinės kūrybos strategijos įgaus įvietintą fizinę formą parodoje Kauno menininkų namuose.

Rezidenciją dalinai finansuoja Kauno miesto savivaldybė, partneriai Kauno menininkų namai.

Research points, suggested by the curator Vaida Stepanovaitė are intertwined with the evolving cultural landscape of Kaunas and reflect the need to rethink ways of experiencing contemporaneity.

On 22 June, Thursday 5 pm a meeting with Moving Art Initiative F.L.O.A.T. (The Netherlands) will take place at Kaunas Artists’ House (V. Putvinskio st. 56). F.L.O.A.T’s exhibitions always start with a word, a line, a title, a work of artist or an exhibition space. They collect different pieces of art works, ideas and combine them in one flow of pieces – an exhibition. To realize the thought fully, each time they find different space, where we locate idea in physical dimensions. They make exhibitions in empty spaces or spaces run by other art platforms. They show their own works together with other artist works

In the two-part residency three artist collectives: F.L.O.A.T. (NL), Lehman Brothers (DK), Eglė Kulbokaitė and Dorota Gawęda (LT/PL) will give shape to the proposed themes that are also visible in their daily practice through educational approaches.
